Our team
In short. Dear Moment is a small, independent UK company started by three family members: husband and wife Owen and Zara Turner-Major, and Zara's sister Nargiz Gezenferli. We're parents who travel a lot, work hard, enjoy life and love looking back on it, and we built this for our own family first. You pay by subscription, so there are no ads, and we never sell your data or use your memories to train AI.
Who we are
We're a family between London, Bali and Baku. We love creating good memories and reflecting on them later, but we kept losing the ones that mattered most: photos lost in a camera roll, diary notes spread across apps, and voices we never recorded. So we built Dear Moment, first for our own family and now for yours. Read our story.
Owen Turner-Major, co-founder
Owen is a senior software engineer with 10+ years of experience. He graduated from Oxford and has studied machine learning at postgraduate level. He co-founded Fat Llama, a UK peer-to-peer rental marketplace, and was its CTO. Fat Llama went through Y Combinator in 2017, raised about $13M, and was acquired by Hygglo in 2022.
Zara Turner-Major (née Huseynova), co-founder
Zara was named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2019 list. She founded WoWoman, an educational platform that has trained 10,000+ women in entrepreneurship and financial independence, and led strategic partnerships at Terraformation, the forest restoration company founded by Reddit's former CEO Yishan Wong. She has given TEDx talks in Germany and Ukraine.
Nargiz Gezenferli, co-founder
Nargiz worked as CEO with Zara for 10+ years across their businesses: ALZA, a wedding dress brand with 350K Instagram followers (closed during the pandemic); Limonlu, kids' apparel (sold); W_Space, a coworking space and restaurant (sold); and WoWoman, the educational platform for women (ongoing).
What Dear Moment is for
Dear Moment is a private diary for you and your family. You save moments to one timeline. A moment can be a photo or video, a written note, or a voice note. It's all organized, simple and easily searchable. For each moment, you choose who sees it: grandparents see some, close friends see others, and some stay only yours. The people you share with need no app and no account. Each person gets a private link and, if they want it, an email digest of new moments.
How we make money
From subscriptions only, after a 14-day free trial. That is the whole business model. We don't show ads, we don't sell your data, and we never use your memories to train AI.
